Where to Sit for the Best View at the Amex Stadium

Matt Tait October 22, 2025
Amex Stadium

Brighton & Hove Albion’s American Express Community Stadium, better known as the Amex, has become one of the most admired modern grounds in English football. Nestled just outside the city in Falmer, it balances sleek architecture with a lively coastal atmosphere. Whether you want a perfect tactical view of the pitch or to immerse yourself in the noise of the North Stand, choosing the right seat can transform your matchday experience.

The Stadium Layout

The Amex Stadium has a capacity of just over 31,000, divided into four main stands:

  • West Stand: the largest and most iconic section, housing three tiers and the main hospitality suites.
  • East Stand: a single-tier stand facing the main camera side, offering excellent central views.
  • North Stand: home to the most vocal Albion supporters and the heart of the atmosphere.
  • South Stand: typically used for away fans, although some sections accommodate home support.

Best Seats for Overall View

If you want to see the match unfold tactically, the East Stand Lower, Blocks E1A to E1H, is your best bet. These seats are centrally positioned, giving you a balanced perspective of both halves without being too far from the action. The gradient of the stand also ensures a clear line of sight, even when the crowd rises.

The West Stand Upper, Blocks W1D to W1G, also provides superb views. Being higher up offers a commanding angle to appreciate Brighton’s intricate passing play. It is particularly good for neutral spectators who enjoy the tactical side of the game.

Best Seats for Atmosphere

For those who crave noise and energy, head straight to the North Stand. This is where Brighton’s most passionate supporters gather, singing throughout the match. Blocks N1A to N1C are right behind the goal and deliver that close-up, full-throttle experience that television cameras can never replicate.

If you want to experience the atmosphere without being caught in the thick of it, sit in the corners adjoining the North and East Stands. You will still feel the pulse of the crowd while keeping a more relaxed view.

Best Seats for Hospitality

The Amex is known for its smart hospitality offering, and the West Stand is the centrepiece. The 1901 Club provides premium padded seating, fine dining, and lounge access. Guests also enjoy exclusive bars and a pre-match meal overlooking the pitch.

For a more casual but still premium experience, the Gold Lounge and West Stand Upper Hospitality areas combine comfort with an elevated view of the game. These are ideal for corporate guests or fans celebrating a special occasion.

Best Seats for Away Fans

Visiting supporters are housed in the South Stand, typically in Blocks S1A to S1F. The allocation provides a decent view of the pitch and a fair amount of space compared to some Premier League grounds. The acoustics of the Amex mean away fans can make plenty of noise, especially in high-stakes fixtures.

Accessibility and Comfort

The Amex is one of the most accessible modern grounds in the league. There are wheelchair viewing areas in all stands, and the sightlines are excellent throughout. The concourses are wide, well-lit, and served by local food vendors that give the experience a community feel.

Verdict

For a balanced mix of view, atmosphere, and comfort, the East Stand Lower is arguably the sweet spot. The North Stand wins for passion, while the West Stand Upper is unbeatable for a bird’s-eye tactical perspective. Hospitality guests, meanwhile, will find the 1901 Club among the most polished matchday packages on the south coast.

TFC Takeaway

The Amex Stadium may not have the size of Old Trafford or Anfield, but it has character, clarity, and comfort in equal measure. Each stand offers its own personality, from the roar of the North to the calm vantage of the West. Wherever you sit, you will find the same Brighton identity: stylish football, loyal supporters, and the sea breeze just beyond the Downs.
