The Premier League is the top level of the English football league system. There are 20 teams competing in the league each season. Each team plays 38 matches. The top four teams qualify for the next season’s Champions League, the 5th placed team qualifies for the Europa League, and the bottom three teams are relegated to the EFL Championship. The 2021/22 season will begin on 14 August 2021. Norwich City, Watford, and Brentford are the three newly-promoted sides. Manchester City are the defending champions, having won their fifth Premier League title in the previous season.
