Stadium Information

The American Express Community Stadium, widely known as the Amex, has been the home of Brighton & Hove Albion since 2011. Built on the edge of Falmer, the stadium marked a major step forward for the club after years of ground instability. The bowl holds more than thirty-one thousand supporters and is shaped by sweeping roof curves that give the ground a distinctive profile.

Three of the stands rise in smooth, continuous arcs, while the East Stand features a larger tier structure that contains hospitality and media areas. The pitch is a hybrid surface supported by modern drainage and lighting systems.

Matchdays at the Amex feel modern and well-organised. Supporters typically arrive via Falmer station or dedicated matchday transport routes, including buses and park-and-ride services. The concourses are wide, bright, and equipped with a strong selection of food and drink outlets, many of which highlight local produce. Sightlines across the bowl are excellent thanks to the consistent rake and the absence of obstructive pillars.

The home support is spread throughout the ground, with the North Stand generating much of the noise during competitive fixtures. The stadium sits apart from residential areas, which helps with crowd movement but limits parking options. Most supporters use rail, shuttle buses, or designated park-and-ride sites.

Accessibility is a strong point, with step-free routes, wheelchair bays across multiple stands, accessible toilets, lifts, and matchday support staff available. The surrounding area includes the University of Sussex and the South Downs, giving matchdays a different feel compared to inner-city venues.

Despite its modern build, the Amex has developed a clear sense of identity, blending comfort, atmosphere, and Brighton’s distinctive club culture.
