Stadium Information

Canada Life Centre is a major indoor arena in downtown Winnipeg and one of the busiest multi-purpose venues in western Canada. Opened in 2004 as the MTS Centre, the arena was built to bring top-level professional hockey back to the city and now serves as the home of the Winnipeg Jets. Its steeply tiered seating bowl and enclosed design create strong sightlines and an intense atmosphere that amplifies crowd noise, particularly during NHL games.

With a hockey capacity of just over fifteen thousand, the arena balances intimacy with modern facilities. On game nights, Canada Life Centre is known for its loud, tightly packed atmosphere, with fans seated close to the ice and sound building rapidly during key moments.

The arena also hosts concerts, family shows and major indoor sporting events, adapting easily between configurations. Concourse areas are modern and efficient, offering a wide range of food, drink and hospitality options across multiple levels. The arena is centrally located and well served by Winnipeg Transit bus routes, with parking available in nearby garages and
surface lots rather than extensive on-site parking.

Accessibility features include step-free access, lifts, wheelchair seating platforms, adapted toilets and assistance services. Surrounded by restaurants, hotels and the city’s entertainment district, Canada Life Centre plays a central role in Winnipeg’s sporting and cultural life.
