Serie B, currently named Serie BKT for sponsorship reasons, is the second division of the Italian football league system after the Serie A. The 2020-21 season will be the 89th season of the Serie B since its establishment in 1929. There are 20 teams competing in the league. The top two sides are promoted to Serie A, teams from 3rd to 8th are playing promotion play-off to decide the 3rd promoted team. Bottom 3 sides are relegated to Serie C and 16th and 17th placed team play relegation play-off.
