Stadium Information

Rogers Centre, formerly known as SkyDome, is one of Canada’s most recognisable modern stadiums and a landmark of downtown Toronto. Opened in 1989, the stadium was groundbreaking for its fully retractable roof, allowing events to be held in all weather conditions.

Located adjacent to the CN Tower on Toronto’s waterfront, the venue was designed as a multi-purpose stadium capable of hosting baseball, Canadian football, basketball and major concerts. Its circular bowl and movable seating configurations allow it to adapt to different sports and event layouts. Rogers Centre is best known as the long-time home of the Toronto Blue Jays and for hosting large-scale international sporting events.

Matchdays and event days are defined by convenience and spectacle rather than intimacy, with wide concourses, extensive concessions and clear internal circulation. When the roof is open, the stadium offers a distinctive open-air experience in the heart of the city, while a closed roof creates a controlled indoor environment suitable for year-round use.

The stadium is exceptionally well connected, with direct access to Toronto’s Union Station via the SkyWalk, as well as regional rail, subway, streetcar and bus services. Parking is available in nearby garages rather than on a single stadium site.

Accessibility features include step-free access, lifts, wheelchair seating platforms, adapted toilets and assistance services. Surrounded by major landmarks, hotels and entertainment districts, Rogers Centre plays a central role in Toronto’s sporting and cultural life.
