In the heart of Riyadh, an architectural marvel is swiftly taking shape. The under-construction Kingdom arena, is poised to be an exceptional 200,000 square meters multipurpose building, and is set to redefine the sports and entertainment landscape.

With a capacity to host up to 26,000 spectators and the incorporation of cutting-edge technology, this new stadium promises an extraordinary experience for sports enthusiasts.

In a vision of architectural grandeur and entertainment innovation, the Kingdom Arena is set to redefine Riyadh’s landscape and offer a remarkable fusion of sport and entertainment. The construction of this magnificent facility, initially known as the Boulevard Hall, commenced in mid-2023. It was conceived as a versatile entertainment hub, capable of hosting an array of events, from massive concerts to activities related to the Riyadh Season winter festival. Simultaneously, its design allowed for the creation of a full-size pitch within, transforming it into a multi-purpose stadium.

A Home for Football and More

Originally, it was anticipated that the arena would host matches as part of the annual Riyadh Season Cup friendly tournament. However, in a groundbreaking development in late September 2023, the General Entertainment Authority inked a historic agreement with the renowned Al-Hilal Football Club. Under this groundbreaking agreement, the new arena is set to become the home venue of Al-Hilal, where they will grace the pitch in thrilling football encounters.

Al-Hilal, the most illustrious football club in Saudi Arabia, garnered global attention in August 2023 with the high-profile transfer of Brazilian striker Neymar to the club. Until this point, the team had been nomadic, playing their matches at various stadiums in Riyadh, including King Fahd International Stadium, Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, and King Saud University Stadium. The new arena will give the club a grand platform for their planned expansion.

Al-Hilal’s agreement includes an annual payment of 40 million rials for the privilege of using this iconic facility. Thanks to the generous contribution of 25 million rials from Prince Al Waleed bin Talal, the owner of the Kingdom Holding Company, the arena will bear the illustrious name, “Kingdom Arena.” The momentous inauguration is eagerly anticipated, slated for January 2024, coinciding with the Riyadh Season Cup tournament.

An Architectural Marvel

The Kingdom Arena is more than just a sports venue; it is an architectural masterpiece and a technological wonder. This fully enclosed facility boasts a full-size football pitch and grandstands that can accommodate up to 26,000 spectators. Standing tall at 47 meters, the building spans an impressive 220 by 150 meters. Inside, you’ll find 20 lavish skyboxes and a spacious sky lounge for 350 people. The arena will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, featuring a panoramic video screen encircling the interior, delivering an immersive experience to every corner of the venue. Nestled in the north-western part of Riyadh within the Boulevard City, the Kingdom Arena promises to be a cultural and sporting gem of Saudi Arabia.
