Michigan Stadium - Where to Eat and Stay

Whether you’re in Ann Arbor for a Wolverines game or simply exploring the campus, the area around Michigan Stadium offers a variety of places to eat and stay. This guide focuses on spots within walking distance or a short drive from the stadium, ensuring you stay close to the action.

Restaurants Near Michigan Stadium

Zingerman’s Roadhouse
A staple of Ann Arbor dining, Zingerman’s Roadhouse delivers regional American comfort food made with local ingredients. Expect dishes like buttermilk fried chicken, slow-smoked BBQ, and an impressive mac and cheese menu. It’s a short drive west of the stadium.

Frita Batidos
Popular with students and locals, Frita Batidos blends Cuban-inspired street food with a casual atmosphere. Their signature “fritas” (Cuban burgers) and tropical milkshakes are quick, affordable, and perfect for a bite before or after the game.

The Pretzel Bell
Right in downtown Ann Arbor, about a 20-minute walk from the stadium, this pub mixes old-school Michigan football nostalgia with modern pub fare. Think burgers, beer, and massive soft pretzels in a vibrant game-day atmosphere.

Isalita Cantina Mexicana
Stylish and energetic, Isalita serves up inventive Mexican small plates and cocktails. The tacos, guacamole variations, and mezcal offerings make it a great spot for groups.

Tomukun Noodle Bar
A favourite for those craving ramen or Korean BBQ. It’s slightly further out but offers hearty, satisfying bowls perfect for colder game days.

South Main Market
Just a few blocks south of the stadium, this food hall inside Venue by 4M offers multiple vendor stalls, making it a solid choice if your group can’t agree on one cuisine.

Hotels and Accommodation

Graduate Ann Arbor
A boutique hotel with collegiate flair just off State Street, a 25-minute walk from the stadium. It blends nostalgic Michigan memorabilia with modern comfort. The in-house café and bar are also popular pre- and post-game gathering spots.

The Kensington Hotel
Located on South State Street near Briarwood Mall, this hotel is a quick 5-minute drive or shuttle ride from the stadium. It has a more traditional business-travel layout but is clean, reliable, and often quieter than downtown options.

Weber’s Boutique Hotel
A long-standing family-run hotel west of downtown Ann Arbor. While slightly farther from the stadium (10–12 minute drive), it’s well-regarded for its classic steakhouse, retro-modern rooms, and on-site bakery.

Hyatt Place Ann Arbor
Just south of the stadium, this mid-range hotel is known for its spacious rooms and convenience. A good choice for families and fans looking to stay close but avoid central congestion.

Airbnb and Local Rentals
On game weekends, local residents often rent out homes and apartments near the stadium, especially in the Old West Side and Burns Park neighbourhoods. These fill up quickly but can offer a more flexible and residential feel than hotels.

TFC Tips for Game Day

  • Book early: Rooms near Michigan Stadium are in high demand on game weekends. Rates rise steeply and availability drops quickly.
  • Consider parking logistics: If you’re staying further out, look for hotels that offer shuttle service or easy access to Ann Arbor’s gameday buses.
  • Plan meals in advance: Restaurants near the stadium can get packed. Reserving a table or arriving early helps avoid long waits.
  • Walk or bike if possible: Traffic around the stadium gets heavy. Walking from downtown or cycling in via the city’s bike lanes often beats driving.

Whether you’re in for the maize and blue or just soaking up the energy of a college football Saturday, the area around Michigan Stadium provides plenty of quality food and comfortable accommodation, all within reach of the Big House.
